Pre-Surgery Preparation

Great vision starts with thorough preparation.

Surgical outcomes depend as much on the patient's careful
preparation as on the medical team's skill.
Gangnam Tokyo Eye Clinic provides a comprehensive pre-surgery guide
designed for safe surgery with zero margin for error.

Pre-Surgery Preparation

The First Step to Accurate Corneal Measurement:
Stop Wearing Lenses

Lenses temporarily alter the shape of the cornea.
To restore the original corneal shape and obtain accurate surgical data,
you must observe the following periods.

  • Soft Lenses

    4-7days

  • Toric Lenses

    7days

  • Hard Lenses (RGP)

    10-14days

  • Ortho-K Lenses

    1month

If examination and surgery are performed on the same day, the discontinuation period must be strictly observed for precise laser planning.

Lifestyle & Condition Management

Maintaining optimal condition for the best surgical results

No Alcohol

No Alcohol

We recommend abstaining from alcohol 2-3 days before surgery. Alcohol dehydrates the body and may affect corneal recovery.

Adequate Rest

Adequate Rest

Please get at least 7 hours of quality sleep the night before surgery
to minimize eye fatigue.

Dry Eye Management

Dry Eye Management

If you have dry eyes, use artificial tears frequently
to maintain optimal corneal condition.
